This is why we are offering our parts brokerage services to you. If you have been buying your exchange avionics direct from, or sending repairs direct to, the OEM (Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, Universal Avionics, Teledyne/Magnastar, L-3 Communications/Recorders) then you have been paying too much. Why buy a low budget unit with a 30 or 90 day warranty when you can get an OEM unit for nearly the same or better pricing with a full 1 year warranty in most cases and little to no chance for a BER core bill back?
Here’s how it works. As an authorized dealer we get a discount off list price from the OEM for exchange units and repairs. Then, instead of charging our customer list price, we pass along a portion of the savings. In many cases we pass along a majority of the discount to our customer. Here’s an example: Say you have a radar unit that requires exchanging. The list price is $20,000. We can buy this piece of equipment for $15,000 which is the same price any other dealer of that OEM buys it for. Most other dealers will try and sell this radar to you for list price. Some dealers may try and offer you 10% off making your price $18,000. In this case, we offer you 15% off. Making your price $17,000. Total savings off list is $3000. I bet you can find someplace else to apply that money to, right? This is just one example of how we can save you thousands over the course of a year. If you have multiple aircraftthen you definitely need to take advantage of this program. Discounts vary by OEM but we always work out the discount structure with our customers before they ever buy anything from us. Then they always know what to expect and there are no surprises.
