Cessna 182 full interior and panel upgrade complete. New powder coated and silkscreened panel. New Garmin equipment, JP Instruments, PS Engineering, Mid Continent Instruments, 406 ELT and new Tritex Air interior.

Well, we’ve been done with our airplane’s interior upgrade for quite some time, I just haven’t had the time to post a message here with new pictures. Below you will find before and after shots of the panel. It is an amazing difference.  We’ve been flying a lot here these past 2 months and everything is working just great.  What a great addition and enhancement to safety, enjoyment and ease of flight.

The list of new equipment includes Garmin G500, GNS-430W, GTX-330, GLD-69A, SL-30. JP Instruments EDM-930. PS ENgineering PMA-8000Bmp3. Mid Continent Instruments Lifesaver Gyro. Century Altitude Preselect, Kannad 406 ELT and Lightspeed Headsets. Plus all new instrument panels made here at Spirit from scratch that were powder coated at Performance Powder Coating of Columbus and then Silk-screened by Extended Resources of Columbus.

The all new interior (seat covers, carpet, door panels, and glareshield) was done by one of our partner companies, Tritex Air. We’d like to thank them for doing such a great job.

We even replaced all of the plastics such as the console, pillars, headliner and baggage area with new pieces from Plane Plastics.

Thanks to everyone who supported us on this project.

Just a reminder that Aviation parts and services are tax free in Ohio

Friday, November 5th, 2010

For those of you that read this blog that don’t already know, and also as a reminder to those that do, Ohio aviation companies have a very distinct tax advantage over other states. When you bring your aircraft to Spirit Avionics for an upgrade or service, or if you buy parts from us, you will not have to pay sales tax. Ohio passed legislation a couple years ago that eliminated sales tax on all services and products provided to the aviation industry.  So if you are thinking about an upgrade, or other services, please consider the additional savings and value you will receive by bringing your aircraft to Spirit Avionics vs. going to another state to have the same work performed.

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Today Garmin announced a new promotion for operators who would like to upgrade their older MX-20 unit to a new GMX-200. The trade in value varies depending on options and could save you as much as $6,000 off the price of the new GMX-200 unit. This promotion runs from today through June 30, 2011. With an MX-20 trade in unit you can also qualify for discounted Chartview and WSI weather upgrades as well.

Unfortunately this promotion is only for those with an MX-20 trading up to a GMX-200. No other MFD’s will be added to this promotion at this time.
